Best Ending I've Covered

Found this video today on you tube, it's the best ending to a college hockey game I've covered.
It was the conference semifinal game in 1999, Clarkson vs. Princeton in Lake Placid (yes the same rink where the U.S. beat the USSR in the 1980 Winter Olympics).
Clarkson built a big lead early and gradually gave it away and Princeton tied the game with about 20 seconds left. I was getting ready for an overtime period when Clarkson defenseman Willie Mitchell scored on a wild shot with less than 4 seconds to play to give them a win. They went on to beat rival St. Lawrence the following night to win the championship.
Willie Mitchell now plays for the NHL's Vancouver Canucks.
(the audio in this is not great, it's only a 20 second clip, but watch toward the top of the screen for a guy in a white jersey near the red line).

2009 Rose Bowl via You Tube

Few interesting you tube clips I've found of Rose Bowl festivities (game, parade, pre-game, etc)

Foreigners at Rose Bowl (have no idea what they are saying at the start, but the lady is wearing red so I hope they were USC fans. Shows some interesting footage outside the stadium before the game)

Conquest (if you hear this after a game you know USC just won another - side trivia, when I was in Brethren's band we played this song when the team ran out of the locker room onto the field before a game. The coach heard us practicing it and made that request to our band director).

At the Parade (this is a cool video, the angle it's shot, combined with the outfit the drum major wears, makes the band look like an army approaching)

ESPN Sportscenter game highlights

Final part of the actual TV broadcast

**only thing that stinks is I have to wait until September for another USC football game**

If you like 'A Christmas Story' ....

You HAVE to watch this..it runs about an hour, I posted it in pieces (the first part doesn't seem to be lip-synched well).
This show was called 'The Great American Fourth of July, and other disasters). It's the same author as 'A Christmas Story', Jean Shepherd, and it features the same characters. It's just set when Ralphie is now a teenager named Ralph.
Matt Dillon (before he was very famous) plays Ralph and the 'old man' in this movie is played by actor Matthew Broderick's late father.
If you like the Christmas movie, you will definitely want to put the time in to watch this:

One More USC/UCLA Post

This is the opening part of one of my favorite shows, which was dropped this year. It was called Trojan Rewind and they showed a half-hour highlights version of the previous weeks game. What I liked about it was they spent the first four or five minutes of every show giving you an example of what it was like to be at the game, the extra stuff. Here's the opening of the USC/UCLA game from 2005, USC won 66-19! Shows you some idea what it's like to attend this game in person, something I was fortunate enough to do many times in the late 70's and on through the 80's.

The Greatest Rivalry in College Sports

That's right, UCLA may stink this year but there is still no better rivalry in college sports than USC/UCLA. Show me any other place where you have two schools of this caliber in the SAME TOWN!

Here's some you tube stuff I found on the rivalry:

This one I can't embed but it's funny

USC 38, Notre Dame 3!
